Hail Satin
Hail Satin is a Record Store Day release from the Dee Gees, a side project of Foo Fighters. It came out on 17 July 2021 on RCA. The name plays on the Bee Gees and on Dave Grohl's initials, while the title puns on satin, that fabric of the disco era, and the phrase "hail Satan".
The first side is given over to five covers of songs written and recorded by members of the Gibb family: four from the Bee Gees and one Andy Gibb solo record. The other side holds five live versions of songs from Medicine at Midnight, the band's studio album from earlier that year. It's a light-hearted detour from the main Foo Fighters catalogue, and a neat pairing of disco affection with live rock.
