Medium Rare
Medium Rare is a covers collection from Foo Fighters, issued by Roswell Records. It first appeared on 16 April 2011 as a limited-edition vinyl pressing for Record Store Day, the annual celebration of independent record shops. Most of the tracks had already turned up as B-sides or on other compilations, so the record works as a handy gathering of scattered odds and ends.
It arrived the same year as Wasting Light, giving fans something to dig into alongside the band's seventh studio album. Fresh recordings of "Bad Reputation" and "This Will Be Our Year" sit beside a live take on "Young Man Blues". A CD edition was also given to new subscribers of Q magazine for a limited time, minus "Darling Nikki". European release followed on 23 August 2011.
