Happiness Bastards
Happiness Bastards is the ninth studio album by the Black Crowes, released on 15 March 2024 through Silver Arrow Records. Jay Joyce produced it, and the band's blues rock roots sit at the centre of the sound. The single "Wanting and Waiting" arrived in January 2024 to set the scene.
It matters in the band's story for a few reasons. This is the first record since the group reformed in 2019, and their first collection of new material since Before the Frost...Until the Freeze in 2009. It is also the first made without longtime drummer Steve Gorman. If you have followed the Crowes since the days of Shake Your Money Maker, it is a chance to hear where they stand after a long gap. The album earned a Grammy nomination for Best Rock Album at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards.
