Noise for Music’s Sake
Noise for Music's Sake is a double-disc compilation from Napalm Death, the British death metal and grindcore band, released in July 2003 on Earache Records. It looks back over the group's whole career, which by then stretched from Scum in 1987 to Order of the Leech in 2002.
The first disc is a best-of, while the second gathers rarities for those who already know the main records. The booklet runs to 20 pages and includes interviews with Shane Embury and Mark "Barney" Greenway, plus a guide to the songs on the second disc. It also carries a complete family tree of everyone who has ever played in the band, which is a real treat given how many members have passed through the ranks. A handy way in for newcomers, and a decent dig through the archives for seasoned fans.
