Napalm Death / S.O.B.
This is a split EP pairing Napalm Death with S.O.B., issued in 1989 on the Sound of Burial label. Split releases were a natural fit for the grindcore scene, where short, sharp bursts of noise suited a shared record, and this one puts the English band alongside their counterparts on a single release.
It arrived between two important points in Napalm Death's story. By then they had already put out Scum in 1987 and From Enslavement to Obliteration in 1988, and Harmony Corruption followed in 1990. For anyone tracing how the band moved from raw grindcore towards a heavier death metal sound, this EP is a small but telling piece of that timeline, and a handy one for completists.
