84-86
84–86 is a double compilation from the industrial band KMFDM, released in 2004. Its 27 tracks span two discs and were recorded between 1984 and 1986, material that had not previously appeared on CD. Some of the selections had never been released in any form before this collection.
It takes in the band's earliest years, the period around their first two studio albums, Opium and What Do You Know, Deutschland?. The line-up credited includes Sascha Konietzko, En Esch, Jr. Blackmail, Nico Blank and "Tamsi" Tamsjadi, alongside several others. For anyone who knows KMFDM from their later, more polished records, it offers a chance to hear the electronic and industrial sound as it was taking shape. The US release followed on 26 October 2004, on KMFDM Records.
