Overtures of Blasphemy
Overtures of Blasphemy is the twelfth studio album by the American death metal band Deicide, released on 14 September 2018 through Century Media. It followed 2013's In the Minds of Evil and came six years before Banished by Sin, placing it in the later stretch of a career that began with their self-titled debut in 1990.
The record is notable for its line-up, as it is the only Deicide album to feature guitarist Mark English of Monstrosity, who stepped in for Jack Owen in 2016. The cover painting is the work of Zbigniew M. Bielak, an artist who has also created artwork for Ghost, Paradise Lost and Mayhem. For listeners who follow the band closely, it is a snapshot of a short-lived guitar partnership.
