Beyond Good and Evil
Beyond Good and Evil is the seventh studio album by The Cult, an English rock band whose hard rock and heavy metal leanings run through it. It came out in June 2001 on Atlantic, and it was their first new recording in six and a half years, following the self-titled album of 1994. For many fans it was a welcome return after a long quiet spell.
The record also brought Matt Sorum back into the fold. He had toured with the band on the Sonic Temple tour in 1989 and 1990, but this was the first time he played on one of their studio albums. "Rise" was the single, with a music video, while "Breathe" and "True Believers" went out as promotional singles. The album debuted at No. 37 in the United States, No. 22 in Canada and No. 25 in Spain, and a coloured double vinyl reissue followed on 31 January 2025.
