Warmness on the Soul
Warmness on the Soul is the debut EP from Avenged Sevenfold, an American band playing metalcore. It came out in June 2001 on Good Life Recordings, and the disc carries an enhanced bonus: a video for the title track.
It matters in the band's story because it is the first release to feature guitarist Synyster Gates, who joined in February 2001. The credits show a few early quirks, with Gates listed as "Synyster Gaytes" and M. Shadows simply as "Shadows". Nearly everything here reappeared on their first album, Sounding the Seventh Trumpet, and the one exception, a heavy metal version of "To End the Rapture", turned up on that album's re-release. It is a handy first look at the band before the full-length arrived.
