Mata leão
Mata leão is the fourth studio album by American hardcore punk band Biohazard, released on 25 June 1996 through Warner Bros. Records. It was their second and last record for the label, and it followed State of the World Address, which had reached No. 48 on the Billboard 200. The title is the Portuguese name for the rear naked choke in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, literally "lion-killer".
The band made it as a three-piece after guitarist Bobby Hambel left in 1995, with Dave Jerden, known for his work with Alice in Chains and Jane's Addiction, producing. Former Helmet guitarist Rob Echeverria joined for the touring cycle. Videos for "Authority" and "A Lot to Learn" supported the record, but it stalled at No. 170 and Warner Bros. dropped the band. It makes for an interesting listen as a snapshot of Biohazard in transition, stripped back and under pressure.
