Album
Heretic
Heretic is the seventh studio album by Florida death metal band Morbid Angel, released on 23 September 2003 through Earache Records. It followed Gateways to Annihilation from 2000 and was the last record the band made for the label, which they chose not to stay with afterwards. It was also the final album to feature drummer Pete Sandoval, and it was the last with Steve Tucker until his return on Kingdoms Disdained in 2017.
It was recorded at Diet of Worms Studios with Juan Gonzalez, the first Morbid Angel album made away from Morrisound Recording. Look out for "Enshrined by Grace", which had a video that got airplay after release and appeared on The Texas Chainsaw Massacre soundtrack. Nile's Karl Sanders adds the closing guitar solo to "God of Our Own Divinity", and "Born Again" reuses the outro solo from "Secured Limitations".
