Soul Searching Sun is the third album by Life of Agony, released on 9 September 1997 through Roadrunner Records. It follows River Runs Red (1993) and Ugly (1995), and it finds the band shifting direction again, this time folding psychedelic touches into their alternative metal and hard rock sound.

The record was co-produced and co-mixed by the band with Phil Nicolo of the Butcher Brothers at Studio 4 Recording in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania. It is the only album to feature drummer Dan Richardson, which gives it a distinct place in the group's story. Listeners curious about how far the band could stretch their style should hear "My Mind Is Dangerous", their first true ballad and a clear sign of the softer, more exploratory approach running through the album.
