The Very Best of Ugly Kid Joe: As Ugly as It Gets
As Ugly as It Gets: The Very Best of Ugly Kid Joe is a compilation from the American rock band, released on 15 September 1998 through Mercury Records. It gathers selected songs from their first two releases, alongside their cover of Black Sabbath's "N.I.B.", which had earlier appeared on the tribute album Nativity in Black.
It arrived after Motel California, the band's 1996 studio album, yet none of that record's singles are included, because Ugly Kid Joe had changed labels by then. That makes it a look back at the early part of their story, centred on the era of America's Least Wanted and Menace to Sobriety. For anyone who wants the heavy metal side of the band in one place, with a Sabbath cover thrown in, it's a handy way in.
