Ugly Kid Joe

Ugly Kid Joe are an American hard rock band from Isla Vista, California, who formed in 1989. Their name is a playful dig at the glam metal band Pretty Boy Floyd. They mix alternative rock, hard rock, alternative metal and a streak of funk metal, and their fans tend to share a taste for Guns N' Roses, Faith No More and Van Halen.

Their commercial peak came early. The EP As Ugly as They Wanna Be (1991) went double platinum, a notable feat for an EP, and the debut album America's Least Wanted (1992) did the same. Menace to Sobriety (1995) and Motel California (1996) followed before the band split in 1997. They announced a reunion in 2010 and returned with Uglier Than They Used ta Be (2015), then Rad Wings of Destiny (2022).
