Staircase Infinities
Staircase Infinities is a 1994 EP from Porcupine Tree, released on Blueprint and sitting between progressive rock and ambient. It collects material from the same writing period as the band's second album. Steven Wilson, Richard Barbieri and Colin Edwin had come together to work on a run of songs that would have comfortably filled a double album.
Most of those songs went into Up the Downstair in 1993, with one appearing earlier on the Voyage 34 single. The rest were gathered here. It makes a natural companion piece for anyone who enjoyed that album and wants to hear what else came out of those sessions, just before the band's third album, The Sky Moves Sideways, arrived in 1995.
