Deconstructed
Deconstructed is a remix album from the British band Bush, released on 11 November 1997. It contains no new songs. Instead, the band invited a range of electronic producers to rework tracks that had already appeared, pulling them towards breakbeat, downtempo and dance textures. Gavin Rossdale saw it as a chance to mix two very different genres and perhaps slip some old-fashioned rock into the dance and techno scene.
It arrived between Razorblade Suitcase (1996) and The Science of Things (1999), and works as a side road in the band's story rather than a step forward. "Mouth (The Stingray Mix)" became a minor hit after featuring in the trailer and soundtrack for An American Werewolf in Paris. Three of the remixes, including the Goldie take on "Swallowed", were later included on The Best of '94–'99 in 2005.
