Piece of Cake
Piece of Cake is the third studio album by Mudhoney, released on 13 October 1992. It followed their self-titled debut and Every Good Boy Deserves Fudge, and it was their first record for Reprise Records. The timing is part of the story: it arrived at the height of grunge, a sound the band had helped to create.
It reached No. 189 on the Billboard 200, and "Suck You Dry" and "Blinding Sun" were issued as singles. The band toured North America in support, with some shows alongside Eugenius. Reprise reissued the album in 2003 with the EP Five Dollar Bob's Mock Cooter Stew and the singles' b-sides, and it later appeared in the 2020 box set Real Low Vibe: Reprise Recordings 1992-1998. It is a good one to hear for the major-label chapter of a garage-minded band.
