Monochrome

Monochrome is the sixth studio album by the American alternative metal band Helmet, released on 18 July 2006 through Warcon Records. It follows Size Matters from 2004 and arrives in the middle of the band's later run, after the early-1990s records that made their name. Page Hamilton and Chris Traynor are joined here by new drummer Mike Jost, making this the third Helmet album in a row recorded as a three-piece.

The title track found an unlikely home on the soundtrack to Saw III, where it plays over the end credits. The video mixes clips from the film with Jigsaw's puppet, Billy, lip-syncing the song, while Hamilton appears singing on distorted television screens. Bassist Jeremy Chatelain, who had stepped in during the Size Matters tour, rejoined for the 2006 Warped Tour in support of the record. Reviews at the time were mixed, but it remains a curious chapter for fans following Hamilton's band.
