Take Us Alive
Take Us Alive is a live album by Extreme, released on 4 May 2010 through Frontiers Records. It captures the final night of the East Meets West Tour, recorded at the House of Blues in Boston on 8 August 2009. The set runs to 17 tracks, with four more appearing only on the DVD, and some of the audio was re-recorded in the studio for the CD and DVD release.
It arrived two years after Saudades de Rock, the band's comeback studio record, and the choice of venue matters. Boston is where Extreme began, and guitarist Nuno Bettencourt described the show as a way of thanking the hometown fans who had stood by them since the club days. If you want to hear the band's funk-flecked hard rock in front of the crowd that knew them first, this is the one to put on.
