Extreme

Extreme are an American rock band who formed in Boston, Massachusetts, in 1985 and are still active today. At heart they are a hard rock group, but they have never stayed in one lane: their records draw on glam metal, funk and progressive rock, and 1995's Waiting for the Punchline pushed into alternative metal and grunge territory.

Their commercial peak came in the early 1990s, when they sold over 10 million albums worldwide. The turning point was their second album, Extreme II: Pornograffitti (A Funked Up Fairy Tale), released in 1990. It reached number 10 on the Billboard 200 and went double platinum, helped by the acoustic ballad "More Than Words", which topped the Billboard Hot 100. The debut Extreme, III Sides to Every Story and the 2023 album Six are also well worth your time.
