Saudades de Rock
Saudades de Rock is the fifth album by the American rock band Extreme, and its title roughly translates from Portuguese as "Nostalgic Yearnings of Rock". It came out in August 2008 on Open E Records, with the band's heavier, more traditional metal leanings on show alongside their rock roots.
It matters in the band's story for a couple of reasons. This was their first set of new material since Waiting for the Punchline in 1995, ending a gap of well over a decade. It was also the first Extreme release to feature drummer Kevin Figueiredo. For anyone who loved Pornograffitti and III Sides to Every Story, it is the record that picks the band up again, and the one that leads towards their later album Six.
