Album
Bump Ahead
Bump Ahead is the third studio album by the American rock band Mr. Big, released on 21 September 1993 through Atlantic Records. It sits between Lean Into It, which came out in 1991, and Hey Man, which followed in 1996, so it belongs to the first stretch of the band's career, when they were putting out a record every couple of years.
The music is hard rock with a strong pop rock streak, the mix of muscle and melody that defines the band's catalogue. For anyone who knows Mr. Big mainly from their best-known songs, this record is worth hearing as the next step after Lean Into It, showing where the group stood in the middle of the 1990s, before the run of albums that continued into the 2000s and beyond.
