Deep Cuts: The Best of the Ballads
Deep Cuts: The Best of the Ballads is a compilation from the American hard rock band Mr. Big, released in 2000 on Atlantic. As the title suggests, it gathers the slower, more melodic side of the group's catalogue in one place, rather than the faster, flashier playing they were also known for.
It arrived after Get Over It in 1999 and just ahead of Actual Size in 2001, so it sits in the middle of the band's first run of records, which began with their self-titled debut in 1989 and continued through Lean Into It, Bump Ahead and Hey Man. It is one of five compilations in their discography, and a handy way in for anyone who prefers the band's gentler, song-focused moments.
