Down IV, Part II
Down IV, Part II is the second EP from the American sludge metal band Down, released in May 2014. It follows Part I from 2012, and in some territories, mainly Japan, the two EPs were combined into a single album called Down IV. The record came out on Roadrunner Records in the UK and Europe and in the US, though the band's own Down Records is also credited.
It stands out in the band's story as the only release to feature guitarist Bobby Landgraf, who stepped in for founding member Kirk Windstein in 2013. Windstein returned in late 2019. The EP was recorded at frontman Phil Anselmo's home studio, Nodferatu's Lair, in Louisiana, which gives it a close-to-home feel. It's worth hearing if you want to know how the group sounded during that brief, one-off line-up.
