The Dungeons Are Calling is a Savatage EP, released on 22 March 1984 by Par Records. It followed the band's debut album, Sirens, and came from the same recording day. The two were meant to be a single full-length debut, but the limited space on vinyl meant the songs were split across two releases. Most of the material had been in the band's live set since 1979.

The title track is often taken to be about Hell or torture, but it is actually about the horrors of drug use, and its metaphors have been misread over the years. The sleeve reflects that, showing a human skull with a homemade syringe. The EP is loosely conceptual, and it is worth hearing as the other half of Savatage's first statement. In 2011 the two records were finally issued together, which Jon Oliva described as how they were meant to be.
