Ghost in the Ruins: A Tribute to Criss Oliva

Popularity19.7

Ghost in the Ruins: A Tribute to Criss Oliva is a live album by the American heavy metal band Savatage, released in 1995 on Fresh Fruit. The recordings were made between 1987 and 1990, so it looks back over a stretch of the band's career that takes in Hall of the Mountain King and Gutter Ballet, rather than documenting a single night on the road.

As the title says, the record is a tribute to Criss Oliva, and it includes a track called "Criss Intro", which the Japanese edition lists as a guitar solo. That edition, titled Final Bell: Tribute to Christopher Michael Oliva, came out on Zero Corporation in 1997. Many of the tracks were later added to reissues of other Savatage albums by the German label SPV in 2002, but the original release remains the place to hear them gathered together.
