Taking On the World is the debut album from Glasgow's Gun, a Scottish hard rock band, released on A&M Records on 5 July 1989. It is the first entry in a run of studio albums that stretches from here through Gallus in 1992 and Swagger in 1994, all the way to Hombres in 2024.

It made number 44 in the UK charts and spawned five singles, all of which reached the UK Top 100. "Better Days" and "Shame on You" both climbed into the Top 40, while "Money (Everybody Loves Her)", "Inside Out" and the title track completed the set. Kerrang! gave it five stars, and it sold over 60,000 copies. Classic Rock later placed it among the 150 Greatest Debut Albums of All Time. A three-disc Deluxe Edition followed in October 2014, adding B-sides, rarities, covers and BBC Sessions, and in 2019 the band played the whole record live on The Big 3-0 Tour.
