Gun are a Scottish hard rock band from Glasgow, formed in 1987 by guitarist Giuliano Gizzi. His brother Dante fronts the group on vocals, and the pair remain the two original members in a line-up completed by Paul McManus on drums, Andy Carr on bass and Ruaraidh MacFarlane on guitar. Their sound sits between hard rock and alternative rock, and they have won an MTV EMA Award.

The debut, Taking On the World, arrived in 1989, the same year they toured with the Rolling Stones on the Steel Wheels/Urban Jungle Tour. Gallus followed in 1992 and Swagger in 1994, and those two, alongside Favourite Pleasures from 2017, are the records people return to most. Their cover of Cameo's "Word Up" reached the UK top 10, and they have had four UK top-20 albums. Their latest, Hombres, reached the UK top 10 and went to Number 1 in Scotland.
