Mechanical Resonance
Mechanical Resonance is the debut studio album by the American hard rock band Tesla, released on 8 December 1986 on Geffen. It sits at the very start of a discography that runs through The Great Radio Controversy in 1989 and Psychotic Supper in 1991, and on to more recent records such as Shock in 2019. Its sound draws on hard rock, glam metal and heavy metal.
The record found a sizeable audience in America. It reached No. 32 on the Billboard 200 in April 1987, and the RIAA certified it platinum in October 1989. For anyone tracing how Tesla began, or wanting to hear the band before the records that followed, this is where the story starts.
