Album
Lovedrive
Lovedrive is the sixth studio album by the German band Scorpions, released on 25 February 1979. It arrived after the group left RCA, and came out on Harvest in Europe and Mercury in the United States and Canada. It marks a shift in their sound, bringing together hard rock and melodic ballads in the blend that would shape their next few records.
It was also their commercial breakthrough. It reached No. 55 on the Billboard Top 200, which none of their earlier five albums had managed, and became their first album to chart in the UK, peaking at No. 36. Dave Mustaine singles out "Another Piece of Meat" for Michael Schenker's guitar work, and admires the title track's galloping riff and the way its two guitars work off each other. IGN placed the album at No. 25 in its 2007 list of top metal albums.
