Live at the Grand Olympic Auditorium captures Rage Against the Machine in their hometown of Los Angeles, recorded across two shows on 12 and 13 September 2000. It was released in November 2003, and it is the band's second live album, following their four studio records: Rage Against the Machine, Evil Empire, The Battle of Los Angeles and Renegades.

The story around it is as interesting as the gigs. A release was first planned for November 2000, but the band split soon after those concerts. It was pencilled in again a year later, then held back once Tom Morello, Tim Commerford and Brad Wilk formed Audioslave with Chris Cornell. Reviews of the album were mixed, mostly because of the mix rather than the playing, while the DVD version won praise from fans and critics. For anyone wanting to see the band at the close of their first run, that is the one to find.
