If You Ain't Got a Weapon... You'll Never Get a Say
If You Ain't Got a Weapon... You'll Never Get a Say is a double-disc compilation from the Britrock band 3 Colours Red, gathering their years on the independent label Creation Records. The first disc collects their singles along with two live tracks, while the second is given over to B-sides. Frontman and bassist Pete Vuckovic put both discs together himself and adds handwritten sleevenotes. The title is taken from a lyric in "Nuclear Holiday", one of their most successful songs.
It came out on 25 April 2005, a year after their third studio album, The Union of Souls, and sits alongside their earlier records Pure and Revolt in the band's story. The release was part of the Creation Anthology series, which also covered Swervedriver and The Boo Radleys. For anyone who remembers the band's hard-edged 1990s sound, the B-sides disc is the real draw, and having the band's own frontman choose the tracks gives the set a personal touch.
