Live at the Wireless

Popularity7.3

Live at the Wireless is a live album by Ash, released on 17 February 1997 on Death Star. It arrived soon after 1977, the 1996 full-length debut that NME later placed among the 500 greatest albums of all time, and before the band's second record, Nu-Clear Sounds, in 1998.

At this point Ash were still the three-piece that formed in Downpatrick, County Down, in 1992: Tim Wheeler on vocals and guitar, Mark Hamilton on bass and Rick McMurray on drums. Hearing them on stage, in the period between their first album and the arrival of guitarist Charlotte Hatherley, is a good way to catch the indie rock of that line-up with nothing between you and the amps.
