A-Z, Volume 1
A-Z, Volume 1 is a compilation from the Northern Irish band Ash, released in 2009. It gathers the first half of their A–Z Series, covering the singles lettered A to M. The series was an ambitious project in which the band put out 26 singles, one for each letter of the alphabet, on a fortnightly schedule from October 2009 to September 2010, on 7-inch vinyl and by download.
Volume 1 came out on CD in April 2010, with Volume 2 following that October to complete the alphabet. It sits between Twilight of the Innocents and Kablammo! in Ash's story, and it shows a band choosing a steady stream of singles over a conventional album. Among the series' radio singles, "Return of White Rabbit" and "True Love 1980" are good places to start.
