The Dio E.P.
The Dio E.P. is an EP by Dio, released in 1986 on Vertigo and issued in the UK and Europe the same year. It sits between Sacred Heart and Dream Evil, the third and fourth studio albums from the American heavy metal band that Ronnie James Dio formed in 1982 after leaving Black Sabbath with drummer Vinny Appice.
It arrived at a busy point in the band's story. Holy Diver and The Last in Line had both gone platinum in the US, and Sacred Heart had added a gold certification. For anyone tracing the group's run through the mid-eighties, this short release is a useful stop between those records and the Dream Evil era.
