Four the Hard Way is the fourth album from Danger Danger, the hard rock band whose self-titled debut arrived in 1989. It came out in 1997, with a US release following on 19 May 1998. It is also the second record to feature singer Paul Laine, who had joined for the previous album, Dawn, in 1995.

Where Dawn took the band in a different direction, this one finds them heading back to the sound that first won them their audience. Two former members, guitarist Andy Timmons and Kasey Smith, contributed to the record, which adds a bit of old-line-up familiarity to the sessions. If you loved the band's early work and lost track of them in the mid-1990s, this is the album that shows them returning to form. It also sits just before The Return of the Great Gildersleeves in 2000.
