The Plague
The Plague is the second EP from American thrash metal band Nuclear Assault, released in 1987. It has six tracks and was first issued as a 12-inch record, described as a mix of old and new material. The band recorded it between December 1986 and January 1987 at the Music Grinder studios in Los Angeles, with Randy Burns producing.
It arrived straight after their 1986 debut album, Game Over, and the two were later paired on a single CD by Relativity Records. The EP was first planned under the title Cross of Iron, with a cross on the sleeve, but the label feared objections from religious groups and the idea was dropped. For anyone following the band's early thrash years, it's a useful bridge between Game Over and the next album, Survive, in 1988.
