Dismember

Dismember's self-titled eighth album, sometimes called the Untitled album by the band themselves, came out on 18 February 2008. It followed The God That Never Was from 2006 and Where Ironcrosses Grow from 2004, continuing a run of death metal records that had begun with Like an Ever Flowing Stream in 1991.

It also turned out to be the last studio record the band made before an eight-year break from recording and performing, which gives it a certain weight in their story. A promotional copy found its way onto file sharing networks in early 2008, so some listeners heard it ahead of release. For anyone who has followed the band since the early 1990s, it is the closing chapter of that first long stretch and worth hearing as such.
