Sons of Kyuss
Sons of Kyuss is the debut EP from the American band Kyuss, put out on 19 April 1990 under their original name, Sons of Kyuss. It appeared on Black Highway Music as a vinyl release, with just 500 copies pressed. Its sound sits in stoner rock, hard rock and heavy metal.
The EP is the starting point for everything that followed. The band soon shortened their name to Kyuss, and their first album, Wretch, arrived in 1991. It carried over the EP recordings of "Deadly Kiss" and "Black Widow", while "Love Has Passed Me By", "Katzenjammer" and "Isolation Desolation" were re-recorded, the last of them retitled simply "Isolation". For anyone tracing the band from Wretch through to Blues for the Red Sun, this small run of records is where the story begins.
