School Days: The Early Recordings

Released 1973
Popularity38.2

School Days: The Early Recordings gathers the first two albums by Alice Cooper, Pretties for You and Easy Action, into one package. It came out in 1973 on Warner Bros. Records, with a UK and European release the same year, though it was never issued in the United States.

The reissue exists because the band's early records first appeared on Straight Records. Once Warner signed them, the label held the rights and could bring that earlier material back. For anyone who knows the band from the bigger albums that followed, it's a chance to hear where they began, in a garage rock and psychedelic rock mould. It makes a handy way to hear both of those first records side by side, and to trace how far the group travelled in just a few years.
