The case for each

Who’s Next by The Who

Who's Next is the fifth studio album by the Who, released on 2 August 1971. It grew out of Lifehouse, Pete Townshend's ambitious multi-media rock opera, planned as the follow-up to Tommy. The project collapsed under its own complexity and clashes with manager Kit Lambert, so the band rescued the songs and dropped the connecting story.

Aladdin Sane by David Bowie

Aladdin Sane is David Bowie's sixth studio album, released on 13 April 1973 by RCA Victor. It followed The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars and was the first record he wrote after becoming a global star.

How the daily album battle works

Every day at midnight UTC the vault draws two well-known studio albums, close in popularity, era and style, and puts them head to head. Everyone sees the same battle. You get one vote, and the result is shown once you've voted. Voting closes at midnight UTC, when the next battle starts and the result goes into the record books for good.

No album battles twice in the same year, and every finished battle keeps its own page, so the arguments can carry on.
